Dermabond...the new stitches

So Monday morning about and hour after I dropped Londyn off at FUMC-CDO, I get a call from them telling me Londyn has fallen and busted her head and that I may need to take her to the emergency room. The on staff nurse was looking at it and trying to stop the bleeding. I immediately left work and drove the 10 blks to her school to find her like this...
Before the dr. cleaned it up

still waiting to see the dr...
all cleaned up and waiting to the Dermabond...

I have pictures with the Dermabond applied but haven't dowloaded them yet. I will post them at a later entry...

Spring Break...

I took a couple of vacation days last week to spend time with the girls during their spring break. Thursday I took care of some personal stuff (renewing drivers license, had blood drawn to check T3 & T4 levels since starting the thyroid med). But Friday we loaded up the car and went to NWA. We went to Fastlane & the Promenade Mall. The kids enjoyed Fastlane and I enjoyed PF Chang's. I cannot go to NWA without eating at PF Chang's. It's my all time favorite.

Heather and Carlton were home for spring break too. They came over to visit a couple of times.

Londyn has started singing what Laykan and I call "The Mommy Song". It is the sweetest thing. That child amazes everyday with how very smart she is. I remembered to ask the ladies at her CDO program what she could be singing and apparently it is "Bring Home a Baby Bubblebee"...won't my mommy be so proud of me. Hense the "Mommy...fa la la". I love it!!!

Introducing Buffy Bousche' and my tattoo...

So another special part of our family is our dog...Buffy Bousche'. She is about to turn 8 yrs old. She is the most precious little girl. There isn't much I wouldn't do for our baby girl. Londyn loves to give her kisses (in and on the mouth). She calls her Buff-Buff.

After her haircut...

And then there is my new tattoo. I got it March 4, 2011. It is something I started thinking about doing when I turned 40. I knew it would be a one time thing (don't care for needles or pain) and I knew I would also get my favorite scripture reference as well (Proverbs 3:5&6...Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all you do acknowledge Him and He will make your path straight.) I love the way Laykan's name looks written out and I wanted it somewhere on my body so I could look at it anythime I wanted. The scripture is one I have a deep connection with in that when I first stop using meth November 29, 2004, I could refer to it in most any situation or struggle and find peace from just reading or saying the words. God had a different plan. 40 wasn't when I was supposed to get my tattoo. God knew I would be having another child. Right before my 41st birthday, I found out I was pregnant. The date was February 11, 2009. What an unexpected joy this turned out to be. So it came to be that Londyn would also become part of the tattoo. I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. I love seeing my girls' names on my right foot. I'm so excited for summer to get here. Sandles and my tattoo...

The finished ink...I love it!!!

No phone, no ipod, no computer...

So yesterday I got online to take a look at Laykan's grades before our P/T Conference on Thursday. To my surprise, there was a D & F which is unacceptable in my home. I immediately called Laykan to let her know I would be taking possession of her phone, ipod & computer when I got off work. I love it when she doesn't have those things. Not only does it give her the motivation to get her school work done and make the grades I know she is capable of making, she spends time (out of her room) with me and her sister. After homework was done, the girls spent time putting all of Laykan's drill team outfits away and playing a game of chase/hide-n-go seek. I love watching my girls together.

They truly are the light of my life..
Londyn loves helping her big "Sissy"...

Almost forgot...this past weekend it was beautiful on Saturday (March 12th). The girls and I went to Ben Geren to let the little one play on the equipment and visit with her dad...
First time down a slide...
I love these faces...

I love to watch little ones running...

About my girls...

I will use this blog as somewhat of a baby book of sorts so my girls will be able to recall the things they were doing at certain points in their life.

Laykan...you are 13. YOU ARE GORGEOUS!!! You have always been a head turner. From the moment you were born, people have commented on how beautiful you are. Not just a cute little girl but "model" pretty. I pray you don't grow up to think looks are all that matter. It's what's on the inside. It's what God created within you...your heart, your personality, your love for others, your caring nature, your kind spirit. These are the things that will be important to you when you get older.

You just made drill team at Ramsey again. You are a Royal Blue for the 2nd year in a row. This is a big deal in junior high. I'm so proud that you aren't shy and will go out and perform in front of an audience. You LOVE to text, hang out with friends, go to the Monkey House, Facebook and dance. Justin Bieber is your all time favorite! Your room is covered in JB posters. You and I both love to listen to his music. You have seen him twice in concert. When he comes back around, I will get you (us) backstage passes. I love spending time with you. You are very smart (I just wish you would put more effort into school) and alot of fun to be around. We laugh and tell each other everything. Your freshman year is coming up and this is when it all starts to count. College is just around the corner and play time at school is over.

You have always been my world. It was just you and I for so long. I never dreamed we would have another little one in the house but we do...Londyn.

Londyn...you will be 17 months old in 4 days. You are a pistol. You have been talking since you were 5 months old when you started letting me know you wanted a bottle by saying ba-ba. By 7 months you could tell me Ba-Ba Ma-Ma. You are so smart. You will try to repeat most everything we ask you to say. You took your first steps at 10 months and by 11 months you were off and running. You amaze me and your sister everyday. You have a Gammy & Nana who adore you too. You love your Sissy with your whole heart. You have been such a blessing in so many lives. Sometimes I watch you and still can't believe you are part of mine and Laykan's family. You have completed our little unit.

You attend a Children's Day Out (CDO) program at First United Methodist Church on Monday, Wednesday & Friday. You love your "school". You are such a big girl. You never cry when I leave you and you always walk right in and start playing as if you have been doing it all your life.

God has blessed me so much by picking me to be the mother of the two of you!!!

First entry...

I wanted to start this blog so that my girls could look back on it one day and know how much they mean to me. I have 2 daughters...Laykan and Londyn. Laykan is 13 and Londyn is 17 months old.
